I would be excited to put mentees on a collection of short "shallow-scoping" type of research projects to help inform priorities around AI×Animals strategy and research at Rethink Priorities and the broader field. I expect that by the time of the incubator, our provisional research agenda will reveal many gaps and uncertainties that can be tackled in sprints (it already does!), and I would love to work together with mentees to tackle them! Depending on the time commitment, I'd anticipate mentees completing 3-4 shallow scoping reviews that will contribute substantially to Rethink Priorities' further output on AIxAnimals.
The mentee's role
Mentees will execute sprintable research projects of all sorts of shapes, depending on the mentees' strengths and areas of interest.
