The project

The project involves jumping on opportunities as they emerge, so exact details will come in due time. We are doing whatever we can to reduce friction and incentivize frontier labs to address animal welfare in their alignment training. This includes a technical component (benchmarks and training data) as well as a social component.

The mentee's role

With mentorship, you could:

  1. take the lead on developing a novel AI character benchmark;
  2. help refine a synthetic data pipeline; or
  3. work to collect the best research on animal welfare/advocacy and repackage it to be included in AI pretraining (e.g. by contributing useful edits to Wikipedia)
