Launch high-impact animal initiatives in the age of AI
- flexibility
- Open to proposals

Excited to mentor projects on
With my background, I'd be excited to help mentor projects with public and/or elite communications, policy, legal or 'meta' angles.
Who I'm looking for
Self-directed and proactive, with genuine drive to improve animals' lives. Ideally you already have a project idea or a clear sense of the problem you want to tackle — the strongest fit is at the intersection of animal advocacy and transformative AI, but I'm open to high-impact animal-focused work more broadly.
Nice-to-haves:
- Entrepreneurial or organisation-building instinct
- Comfort with ambiguity
- Ability to act on feedback between sessions
Support offered
- Shaping direction and sharpening strategy
- Pressure-testing theories of change and cause prioritisation
- Practical guidance on nonprofit founding, fundraising, and communications
- Accountability and structure through regular check-ins
- Connections across the animal-advocacy and EA ecosystems where I can help
- format
- Product & entrepreneurship · Field-building & outreach · Project scoping
- topic
- Near-term impact · Post-AGI transition · Macrostrategy · Longtermism

Thom Norman
Thom is the co-founder of FarmKind, a fundraising platform that helps everyday donors support high-impact animal charities. Since launching in 2024, FarmKind has raised over $3.5M for effective animal charities. Prior to this, Thom was a lawyer working in the UK Government on nuclear energy policy and he has done consulting work for other animal non-profits supporting their policy and lobbying activities.
Now Thom is transitioning FarmKind to new leadership and actively exploring founding a new non-profit working on global catastrophic risks as well as doing field building in AIxBiosecurity.
